Alter Enersun acquires three new photovoltaic projects totaling 150 MWp

  • The three projects have been acquired from the EDORA Group and are located in the autonomous community of Castilla y León
  • The contract includes the acquisition of two additional projects located in Castilla La Mancha
  • The estimated valuation of all the projects is 225 million euros and will mean the creation of 500 jobs during the construction phase and 40 jobs in the long term
  • The fiscal impact on the municipalities where the photovoltaic installations will be implemented will be between 40 and 50 million euros in taxes and fees on construction plus IBI and IAE

Alter Enersun, a leading company in the renewable energy sector, has acquired from the EDORA Group, a company that promotes photovoltaic projects, a portfolio that has three photovoltaic projects located in Castilla y León.

The three projects have a total of 150 MWp, expandable to 250 MW of power, and are in the development phase. In addition, they have a favorable Access Feasibility Report (VAT) granted by the grid operator (REE), with a grid connection and share, together with other projects in the area, common evacuation infrastructures.

An estimated valuation of €225 million

This is the first acquisition carried out by Alter Enersun since to date the company had developed, built and operated its own photovoltaic parks. The purchase has been made in the Ready To Build (RTB) modality, that is, the projects will be delivered ready to build, according to forecasts, during the fourth quarter of 2022.

This operation is part of Alter Enersun’s growth strategy in Spain, with which it plans to acquire 500 MW more under development during 2022. In addition, the agreement contemplates the possibility of acquiring two additional projects of 100 MW of combined power and which are located in Castilla La Mancha, which are in a similar phase of processing.

The valuation of all the acquired projects is around 225 million euros and the estimated joint annual production of the 5 projects will be 470 GWh per year.

Local socio-economic impact

The implementation of the projects will result in the creation of around 500 jobs during the construction phase and 40 jobs over the 35-year life of the projects.

The fiscal impact on the municipalities where the photovoltaic installations will be implemented will be between 40 and 50 million euros in taxes and fees on construction plus IBI and IAE.

The projects will reduce CO2 emissions by 470,000 tons and will be compatible with livestock and agricultural activities to ensure better environmental integration and biodiversity, optimizing water consumption and land use.

No project will exceed 50Mw of nominal power.
