With an installed capacity of 49.9 MWp, Alter Enersun has commissioned the largest photovoltaic plant in the province of Huelva. The inauguration ceremony of the so-called ‘Huelva 2020’ plant, which took place on February 24, was attended by authorities such as the Delegate of the Andalusian Government for Huelva, Bella Verano, the Mayor of Gibraleón, Lourdes Martín, the President of the Port of Huelva, Pilar Miranda, as well as the President of CL Grupo and Alter Enersun, Ricardo Leal, and the CEO of Alter Enersun, José Luis Morlanes, among others.
Located in what is known as the El Pintado area, the photovoltaic plant extends over a total of 85 hectares of land located in the municipality of Gibraleón.
It should be noted that, thanks to the 135,056 solar panels installed in this plant, an estimated annual production of 95 GWh will be generated, which will avoid the emission of some 90,000 tons of CO2 per year, also covering the energy needs of more than 27,000 homes.
This project by the company Alter Enersun is part of the award of the Third Renewable Energy Auction that took place in Spain in 2017, complying with the deadlines and conditions required by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

Finally, it should be noted that for Alter Enersun this is the first large-scale project in the province of Huelva and the first project within the Development Plan that the company wants to carry out in Huelva, which will reach 400MW in the future.
